Certificate IV in Celebrancy –  Code CHC41015 is a nationally recognised qualification

A student wishing to become a Marriage Celebrant must gain the qualification “Certificate IV in Celebrancy”, and complete the following nine (9) compulsory units:

CHCCEL001 – Develop sustainable celebrancy practice

CHCCEL002 – Establish client celebrancy needs

CHCCEL003 – Research, design and organise ceremonies

CHCCEL004 – Prepare for, present and evaluate ceremonies

CHCDIV001 – Work with diverse people

CHCLEG001 – Work legally and ethically

CHCCEL005 – Establish and maintain marriage celebrancy practice

CHCCEL006 – Interview clients and plan marriage ceremonies

CHCCEL007 – Prepare for, present and evaluate marriage ceremonies

Choice of electives (four to be chosen)

CHCCEL008 – Plan, present and evaluate funeral and memorial ceremonies

CHCCCS017 – Provide loss and grief support

CHCCOM002 – Use communication skills to build relationships

CHCPRP003 – Reflect on and improve own professional practice

BSBMKG413 – Promote products and services

BSBSMB403 – Market the small business

BSBCMM401 – Make a presentation

Assignments to be returned by mail or email, with role plays to be conducted in a face-to-face session, or  filmed and transposed onto a DVD or suiable medium. If completing all 13 units, the Certificate IV in Celebrancy will be awarded promptly on  completion of the course.

If completing individual units of competency, a Statement of Attainment for each unit will be issued promptly on  completion of the unit/s of competency.

Units of competency are available as stand-alone units, with varying costs per unit.

Those completing the qualification entitled “Certifiate IV in Celebrancy” will be awarded a certificate that is recognised by the Federal Attorney-General’s Department. Attainment of this qualification is a pre-requisite to applying to become an authorised marriage celebrant.

Other criteria include that you be deemed a “fit and proper person”, and that you are not in a business where there could be seen to be a conflict of interest with your celebrancy services.

Satisfactory completion of this qualification not only satisfies one of the criteria required for authorisation as a Marriage Celebrant, it gives a comprehensive basis on which to build a successful celebrancy enterprise.

Plan and Conduct a Funeral Ceremony

Training Package number CHCCEL008 –  Plan,  present and evaluate funeral and memorial ceremonies

$450 correspondence

This Funeral Celebrancy Course is available by distance education (correspondence) by way of a Participant Guide and Manual.
The course is designed for the funeral performed by a Civil Celebrant as opposed to a Religious Celebrant, although it contains a great deal of information that is common to both styles of ceremony.

If you are anticipating providing any of these ceremonies to the community, then this will be of great benefit to you.
There is no need for you to ponder the structure that is required to conduct one of these ceremonies.
